Housing Quality & Diversity
The City of Prior Lake desires a wide variety of housing options to meet the needs of its residents today and tomorrow.
GOAL: Encourage mixed-use developments, especially in the downtown area.
OBJECTIVE:
Assure that the small town feel is retained throughout the community.
GOAL: Encourage the development of walkable neighborhoods where services needed are immediately available.
OBJECTIVE:
Modify zoning standards to encourage greenway corridors.
GOAL: Develop and implement a housing plan that provides opportunities for quality diverse lifecycle housing.
OBJECTIVE:
Develop and implement strategies for meeting the housing needs for all income levels including entry and median income buyers and renters.
GOAL: Undertake new initiatives for community and neighborhood involvement.
OBJECTIVES:
Encourage the implementation of housing and neighborhood pride programs.
Provide information which allows/encourages residents to facilitate the creation of homeowner associations.
