PLTV-15 Government Access
The City of Prior Lake coordinates programming for local government channel PLTV-15 on the Mediacom cable system. Click here for this week's listings.

PLTV-15 offers programming that focuses on Prior Lake municipal government. Produced primarily by the Prior Lake communications department, programs range from live coverage of City Council, Planning Commission and Lake and Park Advisory Committees. Other shows include Inside City Hall with City Manager Frank Boyles and Scott County Government Programs.

Public Service Announcements

The PLTV-15 channel shows public service announcements (PSAs) on DVD and on its Electronic Bulletin Board. The message board is available for announcements relating to city-wide activities and events sponsored by nonprofit organizations. If your message fits this criteria you may email it to mtpeterson@cityofpriorlake.com or call (952) 447-9804. Be sure to include event times, dates and locations, as well as the sponsoring organization and a contact number.

Policy Guidelines for PLTV-15

The City of Prior Lake defines Government Access as programming where governmental institutions or their designees are the primary users, having full editorial control over all programming and services.

Programming is limited to City of Prior Lake funded or endorsed programs and other government information of interest to City residents. Programming produced by non-profit organizations partnering with the City of Prior Lake is also acceptable.

A program will not be aired if it:

1. Promotes a product or service with the primary objective of producing a monetary profit.

2. Is considered religous in nature or advocates a particular religious belief.

3. Is for promotion of political candidates, political causes, political organizations, political parties, community action committees, ballot issues.

4. Does not adhere to the rules of the Minnesota Cable Communications Statute 238 relating to community standards for obscenity and defamation.

How to Get Copies of PLTV-15 Programs

To obtain a copy of a PLTV-15 program, call communications coordinator Mike Peterson at (952) 447-9804. You must provide the title of the program, the date and time it was telecast and a check made out to the City of Prior Lake for $5 per copy. Media duplication is available on VHS or DVD.

Programs produced by City Staff are copywrited and cannot be rebroadcast without permission from the City of Prior Lake.

Use of PLTV-15 Equipment

The PLTV-15 studio equipment is available for use by City of Prior Lake residents after the required forms and training is complete. Residents interested in producing television programs may call (952) 447-9804.
