Communications

The Communications Department coordinates the City’s communication activities, both external and internal. Those activities include implementing the City’s marketing and communications plans using a wide variety of public information tools to promote the image of the City, consistent with the 2030 Vision and Strategic Plan. Specific responsibilities include publishing the Wavelength newsletter, maintaining the City’s website, creating and broadcasting government cable channel programming and information bulletins, coordinating news releases and other public information and much more.

It provides vital information and links regarding Prior Lake road construction and road closings, community events and news, local government news, changes or updates in City services, important neighborhood meetings and much more.

Wavelength

The city publishes its Wavelength newsletter monthly as an insert in the Prior Lake American newspaper. Visit the Wavelength Web page.

The Wavelength newsletter was first published in 1988 and has undergone many design and delivery changes. In October 2005, Wavelength switched from a bimonthly to a monthly schedule that will continue through the end of 2006. Wavelength features general city news, recreation listings, a mayor's column, information about developments and much more.

To receive a hard copy Wavelength, call the city at (952) 447-4804. Copies can also be obtained at city hall and numerous brochure racks around the city.
