The Finance Department handles the day-to-day financial management of the city. This department is also responsible for licensing such as liquor licenses, solicitor permits, outdoor concert permits, and refuse hauler licensing, coordinating elections and sewer and water utility billing.

HOW MUCH ARE MY TAXES?
Typically under a new construction scenario, if the resident has a valuation number, the city can provide an estimate of property taxes for the new home. Keep in mind that there is a two-year lag before full valuation appears on the property tax statement. Residents either building or buying a new home in Prior Lake can calculate their property taxes by clicking here. Simply insert the market value of the property and a property tax estimate is generated.
A simple call to our office at (952) 447-9840 will provide the customer with an up-to-date payoff balance of special assessments. Remember that the present installment of principal and interest must always be paid with the current year's property tax statement to Scott County, while all assessment payoffs are made payable to the City of Prior Lake.
ELECTIONS and VOTING
There are eight voting precincts in the City of Prior Lake. A map of these sites is readily available or you may call (952) 447-9840 to obtain directions. New residents in the community must register 20 days prior to any election for their information to appear on the Election Day roster.
