City Seeks Watershed Applicants
The City of Prior Lake is seeking applicants to serve on the Prior Lake-Spring Lake Watershed (PLSLWD) District Board of Managers.
The Prior Lake-Spring Lake Watershed District (PLSLWD) covers about 42 square miles in Scott County, mainly in the City of Prior Lake.
The district conserves, protects and manages the water resources in the watershed - including 14 lakes and the seven-mile long Prior Lake Outlet Channel. The Prior Lake-Spring Lake Watershed District Board of Managers provides technical reviews of land development proposals; coordinates its water management responsibilities with local units of government; and furnishes information to local units of government and the public about protecting the District’s special natural resources. Appointments are for three-year terms. The Board meets monthly. The applicant must reside in the City of Prior Lake WITHIN the Watershed District.

Civil Engineering Internships
The City of Prior Lake has two civil engineering internship positions open in 2010.
Water Resources Intern: This position will report to the Water Resources Engineer and will be assisting in asset management, hydrologic analysis, cost estimation, water quality monitoring, site inspection and other duties.
Public Works Intern: This position will report to the Street and Utility Supervisor and will be assisting in project and asset management for the street, water and sewer utilities.
