Job Openings and Volunteer Opportunities
The City of Prior Lake employs about 125 full- and part-time workers in its departments of administration, finance, recreation, public works, planning, building inspections and police. Current job openings, if any, are posted below.

Community Service Officer 

City of Prior Lake is accepting applications for a Community Service Officer in its Police Department.  Responsibilities include evidence processing, vehicle and building maintenance, crime prevention programs, park patrol, and assisting other law enforcement personnel as assigned. Minimum qualifications include post high school education and one-year law enforcement related experience or activities. Enrollment in law enforcement coursework or program preferred. Position is part time (approx. 25 hours per week) with evening and weekend shifts. The 2008 starting salary is $17.11 per hour. City job application is required. Application deadline is May 23, 2008. Fire Department Volunteers Sought 

With the building of Fire Station No. 2 in the northeast part of Prior Lake, the City is seeking applications from those interested in serving on the Prior Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

The responsibilty of a firefighter is to protect life and property by performing firefighting, emergency medical aid, rescue and hazardous environment elimination duties, administers fire protection through public education and inspection, maintains fire equipment apparatus and protective clothing.
