Maintenance Superintendent

City of Prior Lake (pop. 23,000), a growing Mpls/St. Paul metro suburb located in Scott County, is seeking an energetic and experienced manager for the position of full-time Public Works Maintenance Superintendent. This is a highly responsible key position responsible for the maintenance of the City’s public works operations, including maintenance and snowplowing operations of City streets, maintenance of over 1000 acres of parks, responsibility for operation of municipal water system including treatment facility, sanitary and storm sewer system, and over 40 lift stations. Duties also include supervising personnel, contract and project management, recommending technology advances, and assisting in capital planning and budget management. Candidates must have strong technology, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Qualified candidates will have: Class B Water Supply System Operator certificate and Class SB Waste Water Treatment Facility Operator certificate in the State of Minnesota, Public Works Certificate or other equivalent 2-year degree in a related field; 5 - 7 years progressively responsible experience in public works maintenance; a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. Salary range is $72,600-$88,900 DOQ plus benefit package. Information Systems Coordinator
City of Prior Lake (pop. 23,000), a growing Mpls/St. Paul metro suburb located in Scott County, is seeking an experienced professional for the position of full-time Information Systems Coordinator.This is an intermediate administrative and technical position, the primary functions of which include management and coordination of all operations of the City’s GIS system and asset management system (Cartegraph), including data maintenance, software programming, coordination, development and implementation of software features/modules/ or components, developing reporting, and providing staff training. Position also requires management of other special public works and/or natural resource projects or programs as assigned, including tracking of data such as contracts management, measuring and reporting metrics, research, and monitoring project timelines, requirements and standards.

Candidates must have a combination of training and experience equivalent to: a 2-year technical college program degree in a computer science, public works technology, water resources, or related field; 3-5 years experience with GIS, and operating database, spreadsheet and information systems applications; 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in project management involving public works and/or water resource activities; and a valid MN drivers license.

Volunteer Paid-on-call firefighters

The City of Prior Lake is recruiting volunteer paid-on-call firefighters to serve Fire Station No. 2 at 3906 Station Place N.W. in Prior Lake. Successful candidates must live on the north side of Prior Lake and Spring Lake, respond to a minimum of 35% of all calls and participate in weekly training/business meetings. As a condition of employment, firefighters must also pass a driver's license background check, physical agility and stress test and a drug screen. Applications are available by calling City Hall at (952) 447-9800.
