Prior Lake Recreation
The Recreation Department coordinates the use of the city's park facilities, including beaches, ice rinks and the skate park. The department also sets and coordinates the youth, family and adults recreation services offered throughout the year. Information on this page includes park and shelter reservation policies, upcoming recreation programs and much more!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS REGARDING RECREATION

What does the city offer for youth sports programs?

The City of Prior Lake offers adult (male/female) summer and fall softball leagues only. Prior Lake Athletics for Youth, the Prior Lake Hockey Association and Prior Lake Soccer Club offer youth sports for the city.

How far in advance do we accept reservations for shelters and the pavilion?

We go a year out and don't have a cut off date.

What do I have to do to secure a reservation for the pavilion or shelters?

Before you are guaranteed the date/time of a reservation, the Park and Recreation department must receive the reservation form, filled out completely, along with a $50 deposit if reserving the pavilion or the entire reservation amount if reserving a shelter.

What shelters in the city are free?

All neighborhood park shelters are free and are used on a first-come, first-served basis. We only charge fees for community parks which are Lakefront, Sand Point and Memorial.

How do I know if a field is closed in Prior Lake?

There will be signs posted around the Lakefront, Thomas Ryan, Ponds and Memorial fields stating they are CLOSED.There is also a weather hotline (952) 447-9825 that will be updated with the status of the athletic fields at Lakefront, Thomas Ryan, Ponds and Memorial.
