Residents can reserve one of the city's boat slips, picnic shelters, athletic fields, the Lakefront Park Pavilion and more by contacting the City of Prior Lake Recreation Department at (952) 447-9820. Weekend reservations are not accepted after noon on the Thursday before your reserved weekend. For more information, download the City Parks Ordinance.

RESERVE A COMMUNITY GARDEN PLOT

Prior Lake hosts a community garden on the Kop Farm property at Lakefront Park in Prior Lake. The plot rental fee is $35 for residents ($50 non residents). Gardeners must also pay a $20 deposit that is refunded at the end of the season when plot signs are returned and plots cleared.

RESERVE A ROOM AT CLUB PRIOR

Prior Lake's older active adult activity center  – Club Prior – shares building space with the Prior Lake Public Library and is open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The 6,000-square-foot room is also available for social activities for all ages, but will mainly serves as a place where seniors meet.

 RESERVE A BOAT SLIP

The City of Prior Lake provides and maintains 18 boat slips at Watzl's Point Beach and another 18 at Sand Point Beach. Overnight mooring in City-owned slips is allowed by permit with advance reservations. Prior Lake residents may reserve boat slips at any time after April 15 each year. Non-residents may make a reservation not more than one week in advance of their requested rental period. Access to all boat slips is available daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. only. No person is permitted in the park or an overnight slip outside of park hours.

 RESERVE A PICNIC SHELTER

The City of Prior Lake provides and maintains picnic shelters at a variety of parks throughout the community. Some located in community parks are available for private reservations for a modest fee. Those shelters include: Lakefront Park (2 shelters), The Ponds (2 shelters, reserved for athletic functions only during summer months), Memorial Park (2 shelters), and Sand Point Beach (2 shelters). All other shelters are available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

 RENT A CANOE/KAYAK RACK SLOT

The City of Prior Lake provides canoe/kayak rack rental slots at Sand Point Beach for use by the public at (952) 447-9820. The rental fee is $50 for residents and $100 for non residents. (Check or cash accepted only.) The rental period is from early May to the end of September. Access to all racks is daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. only. No person is permitted in the park outside of park hours. You must supply verification of registration with the State of Minnesota to the City at time of rental. All canoes/kayaks must be removed from the rack no later than Oct. 15 or a $100 reclaim fee will be charged with a minimum monthly fee of $50 for each month that the canoe/kayak is impounded.

Canoes and paddles can be rented for $3 per hour at Watzl's Point Beach when the concession stand is open from noon - 2 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. weekends during the summer. You must provide an ID as a deposit.

 RESERVE THE LAKEFRONT PARK PAVILION

The pavilion located in Lakefront Park is available for private rentals at certain times of the year. It was opened to the public in 1999 and has served as the focal point for many community events and activities that take place in the park. It is a unique building that has been featured in Architecture Minnesota magazine and features fireplaces, restrooms and kitchen/concession area.

 RESERVE AN ATHLETIC FIELD

The city operates and maintains 26 athletic fields throughout the community including: nine soccer fields, two football fields, six baseball field, and nine softball fields. Fields are available for public use and can be reserved by contacting City Hall at (952) 447-9820. Reservation preference is given to city-sponsored leagues and Prior Lake youth athletic events.
