Community and Economic Development
The Community and Economic Development Department is primarily responsible for the review and management of new development including residential, commercial and industrial development. The department oversees land use applications such as plats, conditional use permits, variances and site plan review.
The Community and Economic Development Department maintains the 2030 Compehensive Plan, Subdivision and Zoning Ordinances and staff provides economic development assistnace for business growth and expansion.
The department also assists the city's key advisory bodies involved in planning and economic development: The Planning Commission, Economic Development Authority (EDA) and the Economic Development Advisoty Committee (EDAC).
