The commission also reviews residential, commercial and industrial development in the city. New proposals for developments are presented to the commission for study. Members listen to the developer and any concerned citizens from the neighborhood, study the planning reports, and then make recommendations to the City Council according to the goals and objectives of the comprehensive plan and applicable laws.
The commission meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6 p.m. at the City Hall Council Chambers, 4646 Dakota St. SE.
In 2008, the City Council's liaison to the Planning Commission is councilmember Warren Erickson.
