Planning Commission
The Planning Commission advises the City Council on matters involving the establishment and enactment of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan, zoning issues, subdivisions and sign ordinances.
The Planning Commission meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month and requires 10 to 40 hours of volunteer time per month, including special meetings and workshops.
The commission also reviews residential, commercial and industrial development in the city. New proposals for developments are presented to the commission for study. Members listen to the developer and any concerned citizens from the neighborhood, study the planning reports, and then make recommendations to the City Council according to the goals and objectives of the comprehensive plan and applicable laws.
The commission meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6 p.m. at the City Hall Council Chambers, 4646 Dakota St. SE.
