The Prior Lake Police Department

The men and women of the Prior Lake Police Department are dedicated to providing the highest level of police service to its community. The department believes its work has a vital impact on the quality of life in the community and strives to achieve a balance between enforcement and the needs of the community. It is committed to the values of integrity, impartiality and professionalism in the performance of its duties. The department's goal is to keep Prior Lake a safe and great place to live and visit.

The police department provides the emergency services that protect the community. In addition to its day-to-day responsibilities, the police participate in drug prevention and safety training with area youth in the following programs: DARE, Neighborhood Watch, Operation Identification, National Night Out, the Safe & Sober program and Emergency Management.

The Police Department is committed to providing safety within the City of Prior Lake and on parks and trails. Through a special purchase program, the city purchased a clearly-marked Harley Davidson police bike for monitoring trails and providing traffic enforcement within Prior Lake.
