City Council Approves Longer Construction Hours

Your Prior Lake City Council has been proactive in taking advantage of opportunities that will benefit residents and businesses during the 2019 road construction season. This effort was seen again when the City Council approved a resolution extending contractor working hours for the County Highway 21/State Highway 13 project.

“Residents and businesses should know the city and this council are doing everything in its purview to give flexibility to the county and the contractor to get this project done as soon as possible to reduce disruption to our downtown and our residents,” said Councilor Zach Braid during the City Council meeting.

Adding one hour to the beginning and end of the construction hours may result in the following benefits:

  • Shorter construction duration
  • More efficient construction staging
  • Reduced impact to downtown businesses

The new working hours will be Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturdays.
