New Banner Pole System Across CH 21 will Promote Local Events

In 2018, the Downtown Character Advisory Committee was tasked with creating a design for aesthetic enhancements in the downtown improvement project area. As part of that design, banner poles were proposed which would display a banner stretched across County Highway 21 near the library building. Banners would be displayed promoting local events such as Lakefront Days, Music Fest and the Candy Crawl.

The banner pole system has become a reality with a gracious donation of $10,200 by the Prior Lake Rotary Club. They also recently donated $1,000 to the downtown mural project that will be installed on a portion of the Nuvera building this spring.

To encourage more projects like these which enhance civic pride and increase the aesthetic appeal of our community for residents, businesses and visitors, the City of Prior Lake Economic Development Authority is now expanding the #PLWorthIt initiative into 2020 and beyond. The #PLWorthIt campaign was originally designed to encourage communication, promote events and support businesses during the 2019 transportation improvement projects in the downtown and South Lake Village area
